The Department is delighted to share the news that our colleague Professor Patricia Arroyo Calderón was approved for promotion to Associate Professor with tenure, effective 07/01/2023. Professor Arroyo Calderón’s joined the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at UCLA in Fall 2015. She specializes in Central American history, literature, and visual culture, with a focus on the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Her book Cada uno en su sitio y cada cosa en su lugar: Imaginarios de desigualdad en América Central (1870-1900) will be published in 2024 by F&G Editores in Guatemala City. Congratulations, Patricia!
