S&P alum Willivaldo Delgadillo wins award for book based on UCLA dissertation

Willivaldo Delgadillo has been awarded the Premio Guillermo Rousset Banda for his book Fabular Juárez: marcos de guerra, memoria y los foros por venir, published in Ciudad Juárez in 2020 by Brown Buffalo Press and the Instituto para la Ciudad y los Derechos Humanos. The Rousset Banda prize is awarded annually by the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez for best book in the category literary criticism and political essay. Delgadillo’s book is a revised version of the Ph.D. dissertation he wrote at UCLA under the direction of Maarten van Delden. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at El Paso and working on a new novel.
