Patrícia Lino, Associate Professor in UCLA’s Department of Spanish and Portuguese, recently published a third edition of her book O Kit de Sobrevivência do Descobridor Português no Mundo Anticolonial. Consideravelmente Revisado e Devidamente Ampliado, of which the first edition came out in 2020. The new edition brings together 70 imaginary objects, of which 43 were previously unpublished. In short, the new edition of O Kit is, in effect, a new book. To provide a flavor of its contents, here are English translations of the titles of some of the imaginary objects included in the book: “Canibaloff,” “Saudomasochism,” “Collective Amnesia,” “Royal Fetish VCR,” “PIDE,” “Theory of Gravitation,” and “International Order of Scholars for Academic Essays on Literary Texts.” The new edition of O Kit has been published in Brazil by Círculo de poemas.
