Research

I’m interested in literature and media produced after the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile, both within the country and the diaspora, as well as memory and spatiality studies. I am also excited to explore possible transatlantic themes, such as Spain, when it comes to geocriticism specifically, place as a location of memory which can serve as physical and emotional importance.

Presentations

I have presented papers at PAMLA in 2023, Identidad y desvalorización: La doble conciencia en Las cartas de Mixquiahuala de Ana Castillo and at LASA in 2024, Completando la pérdida chilena: Un estudio geocrítico sobre La dimensión desconocida de Nona Fernández y El edificio de los chilenos de Macarena Aguiló. In the fall of 2024, I will present at PAMLA again with a project in progress, tentatively titled: Directors as Cartographers: Journeys of Memory, Transnationalism, and Family.
