Research
I research Latin American literature, with an emphasis on poetry; I am particularly interested in ethnopoetics and poetry that is expanded by sound, illustration, and performance. Although I focus on Brazilian literature, I am an aspiring comparatist, having studied and done research in Uruguay, Spain, Brazil, Peru, and Cuba; I work in Portuguese, Spanish, and Kichwa/Quechua. In addition, I am quite interested in Marxist and feminist (literary and
political) theory.
