Research

My research is focused on nineteenth-century Brazilian literature. In particular, I am interested in archival work regarding nineteenth-century female writers, specifically those from the northeastern region of Brazil. Lately, I have been working on a genetic critique and literary analysis of Maria Firmina dos Reis’s Gupeva where I compare the three published versions of the text and analyze the alterations that affect female Indigenous representation throughout the work.
