Research

I’m interested in phonetics, prosody, speech perception and bilingualism.

In particular, I’m interested in how L2 and heritage speakers perceive and produce different acoustic properties within a single prosodic event, how they differ from monolingual native speakers and how these differences are reflected in their learning trajectories.

Lately, I’ve been working on the acoustic correlations in Spanish, Mandarin and English nuclear stress and their effect on the learnability for L2 speakers.
