Research
My research interests lie at the intersection of Spanish as a heritage language, multilingualism, language variation, experimental phonetics, and sociophonetics. I have a particular focus on Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish, with interest on how speakers and learners acquire and use their languages across different linguistic contexts.
My current projects focus on third language acquisition of Brazilian Portuguese by multilingual speakers and how previously acquired languages interact during the process of learning an additional language. Another area of interest is accent and phonetic variation in Brazilian Portuguese and how they vary across regions of Brazil.
