Research
My main interest revolves around the Portuguese language in general and how it functions; specifically in regards to its semantics. I am especially interested in the lexicology of the language. As a hopeful future translator, I am very interested in the meaning behind certain words and phrases in Portuguese which cannot, or at least cannot easily, be translated into English.
Another interest of mine is the Linguistic approach to translation. I hope to focus my future research on meaning and equivalence in regards to translating from one language into another, which in my case will be specifically focused on translations from Portuguese into English and possibly vice-versa.
